Happy Birthday John Smith.

This is a card I made for John, our Brother-in-Law.

I love the simplicity of this card.

I made it using elements from the My Craft Studio (TM) "From a Man's Point of View" Golden Years CD.

I used a die to add the top shape.

The sentiment is from a dymo machine and I added some embellishments to the corner of the card to finish.

Happy Mother's Day Mummy!

This is a card for my Mum on Mother's Day.

I started with a blank dark blue card and added some Crafters Companion (TM) pearl effect card to the front.

I then embossed some more of the same card and layered three panels on to lilac paper.

I cut a butterfly using a cutting die and added some gems for effect.

I used my Silhouette Cameo (TM) to sketch the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment and frame and again layered this on lilac paper.

I cut a flower again using my Silhouette Cameo (TM), this time using some lovely pearlescent papers.

Enjoy Mother's Day Mummy! xxx

Happy Mothering Sunday!

This is what I made for my Mum for Mothering Sunday.
It is an After Eight (TM) mint box dispenser!

I used a cutting file from 2 Magpies (Thank you) and cut the design using my Silhouette Cameo (TM).
To embellish I used papers from a Crafters Companion (TM) CD.
The sentiment was drawn on my Silhouette Cameo also.

I promise, I did add the chocolates after taking the photo, I know I am a cheap skate but I am not that bad!!!

Happy Mother's Day Mummy.

Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen Chloe!

This is a wibbly wobbly cake "card" for my niece, Chloe, who will be sweet and sixteen on 25th March 2014!
Please note that I probably would not have chosen these colours myself, but they are to go with Chloe's newly decorated bedroom!

I used a template that I bought from the Silhouette (TM) store and cut it in black card with bright pink elements to make the initial box (There are actually two boxes, the top comes off revealing a place for sweets as in the picture, and the base also has a box which reveals yet more sweets!).

I added a flower candle to the top of the cake, also a file from the silhouette (TM) store, and added a folded black card candle that has metallic pink pen lines on it that are not easy to see in the picture.

I added die cut alphabet letters to spell "CHLOE" and added "16" and a heart.
I then added little daisy flowers and dotted with gel pen in the centres.

I know I always say this but...where have those years gone?!
I was away in Leeds when Chloe came into the world, studying for my HNC in Housing, it feels just like it was yesterday!

Happy Birthday Chloe!

A sympathy Card

This is a sympathy card that I made for a neighbour, unfortunately his Dad died recently.

I do not like having to make sympathy cards at the best of times, but I feel that this one turned out better than I first thought it would, although I say so myself.

I used two A5 mustard coloured cards and put them together with ribbon, tying a bow.

I mat and layered the image, taken from a My Craft Studio (TM) CD and then added the image of the poppies and the sentiment over the top but this time used the laser printer and foiled them using a gold colour foil, unfortunately the foil effect does not show up particularly well, but I promise it is there!

I used 3 gold candies from Craftwork Cards (TM) to finish.

Happy Birthday to my crafting buddy Rita.

This is a card that I was inspired to make from a Christmas Pressie we received from our next door neighbour, Chris, thanks Chris it is a most perfect present.  The pressie is a 3d framed picture with butterflies raised from the background as some parts have been printed and some parts cut.

I set to and made a template to use for a card. I used my Silhouette Cameo (TM) machine and first added the butterflies in their complete form.  I then added a second layer of the butterfly, but this time I simple cut the wings.  I then added a background colour and hey presto a homage to the picture that now hangs on our lounge wall!

I am really pleased with it and decided to keep the card simple, I hope you like it Rita. xxx

Happy Anniversary Ron & Ann.

This is a card made for some friends of ours.

I started with a plain red A4 card and folded it to form a landscape card blank.

The hearts in the circle have been done using my Silhouette Cameo (TM) cutting machine.  This idea is taken from a favourite picture that our neighbour, Chris, bought for us at Christmas which uses this idea of images flying from the surface.  Thank you Chris we love the picture!

I programmed the machine to print the hearts and filled them with the pink colour and then duplicated a further heart shape over the top of the original, but this time asked the machine to cut just a part of the heart shape.  Once cut I was able to lift the hearts from the page giving the "flying of the surface" effect.

I cut a "Happy Anniversary" sentiment, again on the Silhouette Cameo machine (TM).

The bow and gems that I have added are from my ample stash!

I hope you have a great day Ron & Ann. xxx

Happy Birthday Niece-in-Law Becky!

A card for our lovely Niece-in-Law Becky!

This is a card I made for Becky using a Crafters Companion (TM) card kit.

The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is a free die I received with issue 121 of Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine.

The bow and added gems are from my endless stash!

Happy Birthday wee lassie! xxx

Happy Birthday Julie.

This is a card that I made for Julie, our great friend and hairdresser.

I started with a 6" X 6" card and added a piece of paper from the Jodie Lee Designs Fairy Belle Collection (TM) paper pad that was a free gift with issue 120 of Simply Cards and Papercraft (TM) this month which I rolled with a pencil to get the roll effect.

I stamped the bird design from the Jodie Lee Designs Fairy Belle Collection (TM) stamps that, again, were the free gift from Simply Cards and Papercraft (TM) magazine.

The 'make a wish' sentiment is printed using a laser printer and then using the Letraset (TM) foiling machine to foil the sentiment.

Again, the bird cage and the 'Enchanted' stamps are from the free stamps set and the flower embellishment is one from my endless stash along with the gems down the side and at the bottom of the bird cage.

I hope you enjoyed your birthday Julie, even if I managed to mess up the date!!
