Get Well Soon Suz.

A little card to wish Suzy a speedy recovery after a recent operation.

I used my Silhouette Cameo (TM), I know there's a surprise, to do all the white work on the kraft card, I love the look that it gives.

The image is a little character called "Bunny Sniffles" who is taken from a My Craft Studio (TM) CD.

Happy Birthday Sharon.

This is a card I made for a great friend of ours.

I used another cutting file from Bird http://www.birdscards.com/(TM), thanks again Bird.

I used the Papermania (TM) capsule collection CD for the background papers.
I cut a "With Love" sentiment in a circle on the Silhouette (TM) machine.
I finished the card with a white satin ribbon bow.

Happy Birthday Sharon.

Happy Birthday Archie!

Archie is 11 and well in to Lego (TM)!

I baked a square sponge cake with jam and butter icing filling and iced with white icing.
I embossed "LEGO" in to the cake, added a "Happy Birthday" sentiment and lots of bright lego (TM) blocks in icing to finish.

Happy Birthday Archie!

Happy Anniversary my loveheart. xxx

This card is for my wonderful, long suffering husband who is always my rock and best friend.
I love you John. xxx

This is a template from Bird (TM) http://www.birdscards.com, thank you so much Bird, another great cutting file for the Silhouette (TM).

I cut the template from white A4 card.
I filled in the "I love you" sentiment with "20", as we have been married 20 years.

I finished with another cut file from Bird (TM). Thanks chick, this time the paper bow that works as the anchor for the card.

The background papers are from the newly released Crafters Companion (TM) Vintage CD.

Love you loads John. xxx

Happy 11th Birthday Archie!

This is a card for Archie who is now a young man at 11!

I used a square base black card.
The background paper, the sentiments and the boy with his headphones are all from the Polka Doodles (TM) Pretty Tuff CD which I love.

I used my Silhouette (TM) Cameo machine to add a mat for all of the sentiments and for the image of the boy.

I threaded black ribbon through the sentiments and added some Card Candy dots in black from Craftwork Cards (TM).

Enjoy your Birthday Archie! xxx

In Sympathy

Yet another Sympathy card I am afraid.

This card I made for a good friend down the road who has just lost her niece to cancer.

I made the card by folding an A4 piece of card.
I used gold wax to cover the background of the card.
I added a topper that I matted and layered on to the card.
The topper has been foiled using my Letraset (TM) foiling machine to add interest to the poppies and also to the sentiment.

I added a bow at the base of the card.
Thinking of you all at this sad time.

A card for 150 years!

This is a commissioned card that I made for Chris, our neighbour.

The couple are celebrating 75 years of life each and so Chris thought it would be a good idea to celebrate 150 years rather than just 75 each!

I folded an A4 card in half to make an A5 card.

The background paper was taken from a My Craft Studio (TM) CD.

I used a Tattered Lace (TM) oval die to frame a sentiment that was written using the Silhouette Cameo (TM) machine.

I then added a background to match the base card and incorporated the "R" and "D", the initials of the couple celebrating.

I added some butterflies that "fly" from the page as an homage to Chris as he bought us a gift at Christmas that started me thinking!

I then added some gems to finish.

I really hope they like it, I must admit, I don't think they will get another!!!!

Happy Anniversary Dad & Mum

This is an Anniversary card to celebrate my Dad and Mum's 45th Anniversary.

I used a silver base square card and added a punched background paper that I made using a Martha Stewart (TM) punch around the page set.

I really liked the colours in the landscape paper so I added some glitter on the bottom and then added the paper to the card.

I made a sentiment centre with the My Craft Studio (TM) Not Just Words CD.

The die is a Tonic (TM) die that is also embossed although it is not very clear from the photograph.

I used some chalks to just add a little colour to the leaves.

I just had to use the lovely bow and flower addition as it was given to me by wonderful crafting buddy, Rita, and I just could not throw it away so this is recycling at it's best...thanks Rita. xxx

Happy Anniversary Andy & Julie.

This card is for great friends of ours who are celebrating their Anniversary.

I used the Crafters Companion (TM) Vintage Floral Collection CD for the background paper.

The centre element is made using a die that cuts and embosses all in one and I put some gold card behind it that would shine through.

The flowers are made using the free dies that came with the Simply Cards and Papercrafting (TM) magazine.

I added a few pearl gems to finish.

Happy Birthday Pat!

A lovely lady we know celebrates her Birthday today, so this is a special card for her.  Hope you have a good day Pat.

This card is A5 in size.

I used the Crafters Companion (TM) Vintage Floral Collection CD for the background paper that I used.

I spritzed the background for the lady using the Spritzer for pen tool.

I stamped and embossed the lady stamp from the Indigo Blu (TM) set that came free with a magazine.

The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is made using a die that came free with a magazine.

I added a gem in the star to finish.

Congrats for new job Evie.

Evie has her first job, at a very well known fast food outlet, good luck with it Evie.

I thought it would be nice to do a card for Evie just to say "Good Luck"!

This is an A5 card, I added a bright background paper and then a die cut shape so that the French fries and sentiments would stand out.

I used my Silhouette Cameo (TM) to make the portion of French fries and layered up the different coloured papers for the fries.

I must admit from the photograph it looks like the fries are 'well fried' but they do look a bit better in real life!

Happy Birthday Sis again!

I am back to making cakes whoo!

I invested in a Sweetwise (TM) mat which I would recommend to anyone especially if, like me, you have trouble with icing the base layer of a cake.

I made a carrot cake and then iced the base of the cake with the really nifty Sweetwise (TM) mat, which worked really well first time.  Basically it gives you the measurements of icing needed to ice the size of the cake you are making and also allows you to take time to anchor the icing to the cake, it worked really well first time and I am really impressed!  (Can you tell!)

If you are interested in The mat please see the www.sweetwise.com page and watch the video, I promise you will be amazed!

I then used my Cricut Cake (TM) and added a cupcake and "Happy Birthday" sentiment.

I must admit there is a small issue with this cake, for some reason, maybe because I always usually make Victoria Sandwich type cakes, I added strawberry jam as a filling, ah well, at least it will be very different!

Hope you enjoy the cake Sarah! xxx

Happy Birthday Sis!

Happy Birthday Sis!

This is a "K" card I made for my sister Sarah.
I wanted the moped to stick out a bit and wanted something a bit different from decoupage, so this is what I made.

I started with a standard template for a "K" card and added some background papers from My Craft Studio (TM) Carousel of Classics CD in a 1960's theme.
The moped stamp is from Crafters Companion (TM) Camden Town theme which I stamped and embossed with a gold colour embossing powder.
I coloured the moped using the Promarkers (TM) and then used a "Ban the Bomb" sign and cut it using the Silhouette Cameo (TM) and added a "Happy Birthday" greeting.
Have a great day Sis!

Congratulations on finishing your exams!

A really quick card for Chloe who finished all her GCSE exams on June 13th 2014.
Congratulations Chloe! xxx

Happy Father's Day Dad!

This was my attempt at something a bit different for Father's Day!

I made this "card" with my Silhouette Cameo (TM) machine and the La Pashe (TM) "Spring and Summer 3d Templates" CD.

I used the Silhouette to add the sentiments to the pillow and the lid of the box.

The seat has a little slide out draw which is filled with a little treat!

I hope you like it Dad. xxx

Happy 70th Birthday Carol.

This is a card I made for my Sister-in-Law, Carol, who celebrated her birthday on 1st June 2014.

I loved making this card, I really enjoyed the different techniques I tried out and will use again!

I used a photographic paper and spritzed/blew with a pen spritzer, some pens (it sort of blows the pen to make dots on the paper!).

I stamped and embossed the beautiful image of a lady which was a free stamp issued by Simply Cards and Papercraft (TM) by Indigo Blu (TM) in May 2014.

I used my Silhouette Cameo (TM) to do a frame and background for the stamped image.

I used two A4 pieces of card and glued them together to make a HUGE card and added some My Craft Studio (TM) background paper.

I punched a few flower shapes from a lustre paper that I have and added the sentiments, the "70", the bow and some gems to finish.

I hope you had a great Birthday Carol, only sad we did not make it up to see you, but there will be other times. xxx

Happy Anniversary to Liverpool FC Supporters!

Happy Anniversary Dodge & Sar. xxx

This card was made using a blank white A4 card folded to make an A5 card.

I used a Tattered Lace (TM) heart die and cut a white heart and Happy Anniversary sentiment in the same card.

I cut the heart in the card with my Silhouette Cameo (TM) just a little bigger than the die shape in the centre of the card.

The Silhouette was also used to cut the paper roses, the Liver Bird and also to write the sentiments "You'll never walk alone" and the sentiment on the front of the envelope.

I then added a couple of gems and a red ribbon bow to finish off the card.

Happy Anniversary Sis and B-in-Law. xxx

Happy Birthday Wendy!

This is a card for my very good friend Wendy who celebrates her birthday on 28th May.
She is a piano teacher and so I thought that this Gruffles image would be perfect for her.
I used a burgundy background card and embossed the front using my Ebosser (TM).
The background flower paper is from a 6 x 6 paper pad by Kate Knight (TM) called "Spring Fling" which was a free gift with Cardmaking and Papercraft (TM) magazine.
I stamped the Gruffles image by Joanna Sheen (TM) on to a cream card.
I coloured the white of the keys with a gel pen but this is hard to see from the pictures unfortunately.
The rest of the image is coloured using the Pro Markers (TM).
I added a sentiment to the base that is from Craftwork Cards (TM).

Happy Birthday Aaron and Good Luck in your new job.

This is a dual purpose card.  This is for Aaron to celebrate his birthday and also to wish him good luck with his new job as a fully fledged Police Officer.
I started with a dark blue base card.  The background paper is one that I made using the My Craft Studio (TM) software as I imported the police car design on to another background paper.
I drew out the Police helmet using my Silhouette Cameo (TM).
The sentiment and the "Police Line" ribbon at the top is printed using the MCS (TM) software.

Good luck Aaron, you will make a fine officer, I am sure.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Grandad Eric.

This is a card that I made for Pat who is Suzy's Grandma following the sad loss of her husband Eric.
I used a 8 X 8 white card and added a gold background layer with a pretty background paper on top.
The topper is from a Hunkydory (TM) set that I have and the "With Sympathy" sentiment is from Craftwork Cards (TM).
Rest in Peace Eric. xxx

Happy Birthday Nephew John.

I liked the way that the other pint glass card worked out that I could not resist another.
This is one for John's nephew, also called John.  He is a beer drinker so this card was done with brown papers.

Happy 60th Peter!

I have just decided, we know a lot of people called Peter!

This card is made for our daughter-in-law's step dad who celebrates his 60th on 30th April.

We went out with the family the other evening and Pete had a Guinness (TM), so I thought, great, I will run with that, he also wore a black and white jumper which just added to the irony!!

This is a huge 8 X 8 card.

I cut a 6 X 6 background paper in both designs and sliced them horizontally to give the background effect.  You guessed it, I have another set of triangles for another Guinness card when needed!!

I cut a pint glass shape in white on the Silhouette Cameo (TM) machine and then another in black which I cut shorter to give a "head" on the drink effect.

I added a "60" peel off and covered the whole glass with acetate so that it looked like a glass.

The pint glass was mat and layered on to white, black and silver layers to let the main image shine!

I added a Craftwork Cards (TM) sentiment to the bottom corner.

Happy 60th Peter. xxx

Happy Birthday Mum and Nancy!

I must admit I sort of cheated with these cards, I loved the effect when I made the first one for Mum and thought it would also make a lovely card for Nancy too.

This is a card from the Silhouette Cameo (TM) template store.

I used a purple card for the bottom vase and added a few little gems to the butterflies.

The leaves are done using a background green card that fades into a light green as it goes down the card.

The tulips are cut with a base layer of orange and then a top layer of yellow.

I added a little glitter glue to add a little dimension, after all nothing says "I love you" more than a bit of glitter glue sparkle!!

Happy Birthday Mum and Nancy. xxx

Happy Birthday Peter.

This is a "tongue in cheek" card as the gentleman who is celebrating his birthday has a surname which begins with the letter "T", hence the character Mr. T!

I took a picture of Pete's house and then added Mr. T and sentiment, decoupage style, to the card.

I finished the card off with a chain that is wrapped a couple of times around the card as Mr. T always wore lots of chains on the T.V show "The A Team"!

I hope Peter has a great birthday.

Happy 1st Anniversary to Peter & Catherin.

This is an Anniversary card for our daughter-in-law's Step Dad and Mum.

This is an A5 card base with a pearl effect paper for the background.

I used a Sizzix (TM) A6 paper with hearts on to add a little interest to the back of the main image.

The image is taken from a photograph of the church where Peter and Catherin got married last year in Cricklade, Wiltshire, which was drawn using the Silhouette Cameo (TM) sketch pen facility.

I matted the image on to a white background and then added a "Happy Anniversary" sentiment with a blue mat to go with the blue hearts on the Sizzix background paper.

I cannot believe one year has already flown past since the lovely day of the wedding.

May you celebrate many more Peter and Catherin. xxx

Happy 70th Chris!

This is a card for our next door neighbour, Chris.

I really enjoyed making this card.

It is an A5 card.  The base is black and I did an experiment with the Silhouette Cameo (TM) machine, by using a glue pen with the Silhouette Sketch Pen facility to add lots of computer geek words!  I then used perfect pearls over the glued words and I think that the experiment worked well, don't you?

I cut the circuit board effect using the Silhouette and cut a mat for it to sit on.

I bet you will never guess what Chris is into!!!!!

Happy Birthday Chris.

Happy Birthday Peter

This is a birthday card for a lovely neighbour of ours.

I cut out the camera shape using my Silhouette Cameo (TM) cutting machine twice and added a concertina spine to each side to make the card stand on it's own.
The detail was drawn with the Silhouette Sketch Pen facility.

The image is a Lili of the Valley (TM) image that I was lucky enough to win in the form of a paper set from the company.

I added a background for the car to set in front of and "snap" that completed the card!

Happy Birthday Peter.

Happy Birthday Carole

This is a card for a lovely neighbour of ours.
The card is a A5 card and I used a background paper that was black and pink to set off the main image.

The corset is drawn using the Silhouette Sketch Pen on my Silhouette Cameo (TM) machine.

The sentiment is drawn again with the sketch pen and then cut also on the Silhouette (TM).

I mat and layered the corset drawing on a background paper and then a dark pink paper also used for the sentiment layer.

I added some bought rose embellishments that I had in my stash.

Happy Birthday Carole!

Happy 90th Birthday Eric!

This is to celebrate Eric being 90 years young, he is a really lovely man and so I thought deserves a really special card.

This is a A5 card and although the detail is difficult to see, the background is a graphite paper with a fleck of silver running through it.

I cut the "90" stencil from the graphite paper and put a green background behind it.

The embellishments are all rub on's which I think just makes the card.

Happy 90th once again Eric, hope you had a lovely time.

Happy Birthday John Smith.

This is a card I made for John, our Brother-in-Law.

I love the simplicity of this card.

I made it using elements from the My Craft Studio (TM) "From a Man's Point of View" Golden Years CD.

I used a die to add the top shape.

The sentiment is from a dymo machine and I added some embellishments to the corner of the card to finish.

Happy Mother's Day Mummy!

This is a card for my Mum on Mother's Day.

I started with a blank dark blue card and added some Crafters Companion (TM) pearl effect card to the front.

I then embossed some more of the same card and layered three panels on to lilac paper.

I cut a butterfly using a cutting die and added some gems for effect.

I used my Silhouette Cameo (TM) to sketch the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment and frame and again layered this on lilac paper.

I cut a flower again using my Silhouette Cameo (TM), this time using some lovely pearlescent papers.

Enjoy Mother's Day Mummy! xxx

Happy Mothering Sunday!

This is what I made for my Mum for Mothering Sunday.
It is an After Eight (TM) mint box dispenser!

I used a cutting file from 2 Magpies (Thank you) and cut the design using my Silhouette Cameo (TM).
To embellish I used papers from a Crafters Companion (TM) CD.
The sentiment was drawn on my Silhouette Cameo also.

I promise, I did add the chocolates after taking the photo, I know I am a cheap skate but I am not that bad!!!

Happy Mother's Day Mummy.

Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen Chloe!

This is a wibbly wobbly cake "card" for my niece, Chloe, who will be sweet and sixteen on 25th March 2014!
Please note that I probably would not have chosen these colours myself, but they are to go with Chloe's newly decorated bedroom!

I used a template that I bought from the Silhouette (TM) store and cut it in black card with bright pink elements to make the initial box (There are actually two boxes, the top comes off revealing a place for sweets as in the picture, and the base also has a box which reveals yet more sweets!).

I added a flower candle to the top of the cake, also a file from the silhouette (TM) store, and added a folded black card candle that has metallic pink pen lines on it that are not easy to see in the picture.

I added die cut alphabet letters to spell "CHLOE" and added "16" and a heart.
I then added little daisy flowers and dotted with gel pen in the centres.

I know I always say this but...where have those years gone?!
I was away in Leeds when Chloe came into the world, studying for my HNC in Housing, it feels just like it was yesterday!

Happy Birthday Chloe!

A sympathy Card

This is a sympathy card that I made for a neighbour, unfortunately his Dad died recently.

I do not like having to make sympathy cards at the best of times, but I feel that this one turned out better than I first thought it would, although I say so myself.

I used two A5 mustard coloured cards and put them together with ribbon, tying a bow.

I mat and layered the image, taken from a My Craft Studio (TM) CD and then added the image of the poppies and the sentiment over the top but this time used the laser printer and foiled them using a gold colour foil, unfortunately the foil effect does not show up particularly well, but I promise it is there!

I used 3 gold candies from Craftwork Cards (TM) to finish.
