Welcome Twix!

Welcome to Twix!
We are all hoping that this is third time lucky, you can guess what has happened to previous cats when I tell you that John's son and family live near a very busy road!
SO THIS LITTLE GIRL IS GOING TO BE A HOUSE CAT!

I used a base A5 card blank and added the union flag which was from a free digital kit I got from Stephanie Weightman.

I took the software in to the Serif (TM) software, added the plain-ish space in the middle, the crowns and the ribbon digitally.

I took a second copy of the ribbon to decoupage it.

The stamp is from a collection called "The London Line" which I coloured using my always faithful Pro-Markers (TM).

I then added a "welcome" sentiment using peel off letters.

Twix is so named as she has the colours of a well known chocolate brand with dark brown and caramel flashes.

Happy Anniversary!

This is an Anniversary card for Ian and Denise, good friends of ours that we used to work with.

I folded a long piece of card to give a main part to the card and a little easel part at the base.

The background paper is all from the Crafters Companion (TM) S.W.A.L.K CD 1.

I die cut on the Grand Calibur (TM) the white card for the stamped image and the burgundy layering piece using some Papermania (TM) layering dies.

The stamp is from Dovercraft (TM) and is from a Tea House stamp set called "Tea for Two".

I coloured the image using Promarkers (TM).

I made a rosette using a long piece of card that a zig zag folded and then added a heart embellishment which I made using the punches and acrylic circles from Papermania (TM) and an image once again from the Crafters Companion (TM) S.W.A.L.K CD 1.

Happy Anniversary Ian and Denise for November 5th.

Happy Engagement!

Happy Engagement Peter and Catherine!

This is a shaped base card that I cut using my Silhouette Cameo (TM) machine after printing the design.

The images are from a Kanban (TM) card kit and I die cut the bird die on the Grand Calibur (TM), it is a Marianne design die and was cut from turquoise mirror card.

The wedding is planned for early 2013, congratulations!

Get Well Soon Chris!

This card is for our next door neighbour who had an embulism in his right leg recently and has been a little delicate lately, get well soon Chris!

I used an A5 blue card base.
I used some alcohol inks on to silver foil paper which I thought gave an interesting effect.
The image is a Ranger Tim Holtz (TM) inspired image that I cut out of black card.

I added the sentiment which reads "we are sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather!"

Chris really appreciated this card.

Baby's First Christmas.

First I must apologise, I have just not had the time to update my blog recently, so this may be a bit of a marathon session, just a good job we have an extra hour today!!

This card is my favourite of my creations, so far, this Christmas!
The image is, of course, a Lili of the Valley (TM) stamp which has been re-introduced recently as there was uproar when it was discontinued, you can see why, it is simply gorgeous.

I cannot take credit for the over all design of this card, I have tweaked it from a card I saw on the Lili of the Valley (TM) site, thanks girls!

I took a A5 base card and covered it with a background paper from a pack of papers I got last year in a kit from Crafters Companion (TM).

I used some polka dot tape from Ikea (TM) to break up the background a little.
I used a gold piece of card and embossed it and used some Ranger Tim Holtz (TM) distress ink on it to give a little interest.

The stamped image is mounted on to red and blue card and coloured in using both Promarkers (TM) and Aquamarkers (TM) and enhanced with a little glitter on the hat and the reindeer horns.

The stamped image was then placed on a doily.

I cut some trees out of foam and decorated them with sequins and die cut a sentiment on blue card.

I love this card...now I just have to look for somone who has a little person who is celebrating their first Chrsitmas this year!!

Hope you like it!!

Happy Birthday Row!

This is a card for a great friend of mine who celebrates her birthday on 4th October.

I just wanted to have a bit of a go at vintage, so here it is...

I started off with a pearlescent brown card blank and added a background paper and the leaf images which I downloaded from http://digital-doodling.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/freebies-autumn.html, brilliant papers, thank you "Digital Doodling"!

I added a gold border with a Kanban (TM) border from the CD "The Seasons Collection".

I grunged up a paper doily by adding some Tim Holtz (TM) distress inks.
The image is a Lili of the Valley (TM) (There's a surprise!) which a coloured in using Letraset Pro Markers (TM).

The sentiment is also a LOTV stamp and I circled with a gel pen the number "4".

I added a "Made with Love" charm in the top corner which a added a ribbon to.

To finish I did a bit of sewing to add interest to the edge of the card.

Happy Birthday - 2 Today!

I have really enjoyed making this card for my gorgeous nephew, Harleigh.

This is a Debbi Moore Woodland Cuties Grotto (TM) card and I think it is really impressive.

The card is perfect for adding a battery operated tea light on the base as this lights the inside of the card.

The card is made by printing out the relevant sheets on to a suitable card stock, I used the Crafters Companion Neenah (TM) card as this is quite a stiff card, taking into account that this card will have to travel all the way to Australia!

I decoupaged some of the leaves and nuts after embossing with some clear embossing powder and adding some glitter.

I added a  sentiment that I stamped and die cut using my Silhouette Cameo (TM) machine.

You're engaged!

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR RECENT ENGAGEMENT MATT AND ZOE!

This is a card for a neighbour's daughter who has recently got engaged whilst on holiday in Greece.

I used a foil card and cut a frame and silhouette of a couple with the chap proposing, using my, you guessed it, Silhouette Cameo (TM)!

I added a silver peel off for the sentiment and some paper flowers to which I added some clear heart stick on gems to the centres.

Happy Birthday Catherine!

This card is particulary appropriate as the birthday girl is a member of the ladies group "The Red Hatters" in Swindon, from what I understand, a group of ladies who refuse to grow old and do it ungracefully!

This is a card I made using a Debbi Moore magazine.

The magazine gives all the papers and embellishments to make this great card and so all I had to do was shape the base card using a Spellbinder (TM) die to make an easel card!

SUPER!

Happy Birthday Brother-in-Law

This is a card for Dodge, my Brother-in-Law, he is not much in to "mushy" stuff like cards, so I thought a real basic one was the answer!

I used a blank white DL card and cut a silhouette of James Bond on my Silhouette Cameo (TM) machine.

I added a sticker that reads "Happy Birthday" and there you go.... shaken but not stirred!

Congratulations Evie!

Sorry, I have not been doing much on my blog recently, with recent events I have just not been up to it, but I am back now!

This is a card I did for Evie to celebrate her fantastic results for her GCSE exams, she is only 15 and so is doing these exams a year early and has passed them all with flying colours, well done Evie, we are all so proud of you!

I made this card by using a 6" X 6 " red card base.

I used a lilac backing paper.

The sentiment and star were cut on my Silhouette Cameo (TM) machine and then I finished the card off with a dotty red ribbon.

Poppy is resting now.

Just a quick update to my recent posts, Poppy was put down yesterday (28th August 2012).

She fought to the end, bless her, as she took 40 minutes and 6 lethel injections to give up, she also went to the toilet all over the Vet's knee and consulting room floor, that't mummy's little baby!!

Update on Poppy Dog

I would just like to say a big "Thank you" to everyone who had kind words to say about Poppy Dog recently.

She is holding her own, but has another set of anti-biotics for a week, which is make or break, as the Vet said there are just no other tablets on the shelf to try.

The last few weeks have been really hard, one minute I am ready to take her to the Vet's to put her to sleep and then she eats and goes for a walk as if she was only a few year's old and looks to be having a fine old time!

Having an old dog is a bad/sad time and I vow never to go through this again, on 2nd September 2012 we will have had her as a member of our family for 16 years and she was close to 2 the Vet thought when she first arrived at our house!

We are always asking the Vet if her quality of life is being affected, as we are guided by their expertise, and as with children in a Doctor's waiting room, she flies around the room like she is fully fit again!

Time will tell but it will be a sad day when she goes to sleep and never wakes up again....

Thanks again for all your support.

Rabbits in a stocking!

This is another Christmas card which has been totally inspired from the "Christmas Comfort" CD by Elegant Inspirations (TM).

I used a gold foil card for the base.

The "Happy Christmas" frame was taken straight from the CD which I cut using my Silhouette (TM) Cameo machine and then the rabbits in the stocking decoupage is again from the CD.

I love this CD, it is just such an inspiration and I can make quite successful cards (in my opinion) fairly easily.

Josh is 14!

Happy Birthday Joshua!

I really loved making this card, it is quite different to anything else I have made!

I started off using a blue 6 X 6 blank card.
I cut the film cell using my Silhouette (TM) Cameo machine and added some silver foiled paper to the back.

I made the box of popcorn using a template and cut it out of really bright dotty paper.

The popcorn itself was a little more of a labour of love as I punched flowers from card, cut the flowers in to more appropriate popcorn shapes and glued a few back to back with wire inside to add more dimension.

I then added a sentiment star, again using my Silhouette (TM) Cameo for both the sentiment and the star shape.

The tickets were a file that I had saved on my computer which I added "Admit One" to using, you've guessed it, my Silhouette (TM) Cameo machine!

I just hope that Josh will like it!
This card will journey from Wiltshire up to Carlisle so I am off to make a dimensional envelope to send it and keep it safe!!

Evie is 15!

This is a card I did for Evie, John's grandaughter, who was 15 on 19th August 2012.

I used my "Complete Cardmaking" magazine, issue 38, to make this card.

The mag comes with a free CD each issue and I printed out the girl, coloured her in using Letraset (TM) Pro Markers and used some background papers from the Papermania (TM) capsule CD which I mat and layered on to a shaped card and dark blue card.

The roses were made using a circle punch which I cut in to spirals and then added a little glitter to sparkle them up!

I added some punched leaves and then using my Silhouette (TM) Cameo machine I made the sentiment which I copied from the magazine and matted it on to dark blue card.

Thank you "Complete Cardmaking", this card idea could not have come at a better time!
p.s I have just found out that my card is in the magazine on page 8 and I won a Christmas card making kit for having the card published, thank you again "Complete Cardmaking"!

Christmas mice.

I am getting carried away ~ another Christmas card!

I recently bought the Elegant Inspirations "Comfort Christmas" CD and I have fallen in love with it, the images are really cute and it takes no time at all to make a really lovely card, in my humble opinion!

I cut the Happy Christmas sentiment file from the CD which also boasts cutting files for non cartridge based cutting machines, how cool is that, did I mention I love the CD?!

I then made a double tent fold card and added the sentiment and some present backing paper to the back panel of the card.

The front panel also has a border of parcels at the bottom and then I used a Marianne (TM) die and cut the background for my darling little mice to sit on.

I added some holly punches in green to match with the scarf colour of the mouse and then added some glitter card berries to the holly...... and hey presto a lovely Christmas card.  Thank you  Elegant Inspirations!

On your Wedding Day!

It is a total surprise to me that I have managed to get anything done this week as we have had a really poorly pup (18 years old and counting!) who has had a constant cough, had lots of drugs until she rattles and £1000+ spent on her up to date!  Just to get some sleep we have had to take her to board at the vet's overnight on two occassions as we are totally deprived of sleep.  The next few days are a test to see if things can improve or if a really awful/unthinkable decision has to be made, so please bear with me when reading this post, there are probably loads of spelling mistakes due to lack of sleep and stress!!

I enjoyed making this hanger project which I especially did for the LOTV (TM) challenge which is "Anything but a card".

I used a Papermania (TM) shaped bare basics album, I painted it with a light blue paint and then added some die cut background sheets and a Coredinations (TM) card which I embossed with hearts for the back of the image.

The image is a delightful LOTV wedding stamp (which I adore), I coloured the stamped image using Pro Markers (TM).

The "On your Wedding Day" sentiment is taken from a Crafters Companion (TM) "Romance" wedding stamp set and I stamped using silver ink and then embossed with silver embossing powder.

I made the roses by punching a circle and then cutting the circle in to a spiral shape, quilled round to get the rose, let go and then used Pinflair (TM) glue gel to glue the rose shape in place.

I glitter glued the white roses with aqua sea sparkle medium from Imagination Crafts (TM) although this does not show up well in the photograph.

The leaves were punched using a Papermania (TM) leaf punch.

This project has kept me going this week and has been a real labour of love so I hope you like it as much as I do.  Thanks for looking.

Happy Anniversary!

Another Anniversary card!

This card was made by using a buff colour base card.
I used a BO Bunny (TM) set of papers and stamp that I received as a free gift.

The Bo Bunny background paper was glittered, which I must admit looks better in real life!

I backed the Bo Bunny image on to a blue background and coloured it in using Letraset Pro Markers (TM).

I used a Marianne (TM) die to back the image in a cream coloured paper.

I used Pro Marker (TM) on white buttons so that the colour would match perfectly with the central image and put a raffia ribbon through each one which matches nicely the die cut frame colour.

The sentiment is taken from a DO Crafts Papermania Digital Designer (TM) CD which I put on to a die cut silver circle.

I hope you like it!

Happy Anniversary!

This is an Anniversary card for my Sister and her husband.

I started with a white card blank and added a background paper which I took from Docrafts Digital Designer (TM) Papermania capsule collection.

The stamps are Lili of the Valley (TM) stamps, and I used some dark blue background coloured card to mat and layer both the sentiment and the focal image.

I coloured the image in using Pro Markers (TM) from Letraset, there's a surprise!

I hope that they enjoy their Anniversary.

A penguin party

I made this card as a gatefold card and covered it with a background card that was from my stash.
I stamped the Crafters Companion (TM) S.W.A.L.K Christmas image and coloured in using Pro Markers (TM) and Flex Markers (TM).
I embossed a sheet of foil card, some more background card from my stash and also some foil effect blue card  Using instructions that I had taken from a recording of Sara from Crafters Companion (TM) I made a camera effect open up card and then stamped the sentiment "Winter Wishes" taken from the Crafters Companions (TM) Adorables stamp set and then embossed using a white embossing powder.
The igloo and the seperate penguins were also taken from the SWALK stamp sheet and coloured in using the Pro and Flex markers.
I gave the impression of snow for the little girls coat, the snow that the characters stand on and also the snow for the igloo to be grounded on using Creative Expressions (TM) Cosmic Shimmer (TM) glitter jewels.

Christmas is a comin'!

This is the second Christmas card that I have made.

I made this card using a white base A5 card, I added a mat of a dark blue card, then white card and then a background paper from Crafters Companion (TM) Popcorn the Bear, frosty and bright CD.

I cut the snowflake from felt using a Spellbinders (TM) on the Grand Calibur machine.

I wanted a suitably large font for the "Merry Christmas" sentiment and so I cut it from adhesive foil on the Silhouette Cameo (TM) machine.

I used some Sparkle Medium from Imagination Crafts (TM) in aqua sea colour and glittered up the snowflake.

I hope you like it!

Christmas is here!

O.K, I surrender to the pressure!  This is my first Christmas card!

This is a DL card which I covered with a paper from the "at Christmas Time" pack from Papermania (TM).  The sentiment sheet is one from my stash which I thought went well!
I die cut a shape from gold mirri board and also I cut a decorative shape from the green Papermania (TM) paper.
I used mirror tiles (bought really inexpensively from a discount shop) and added the three stickers to each, which were from a sticker sheet from my stash.
I sprayed the mirror tiles using Crafters Companion Iridescent spray and sparkle.

I hope you like this, I cannot believe that I am making Christmas cards as early as July!!!

Archie is 9!...where have those years gone!!

John's grandson was 9 on July 17th and this is the pop up card that I made for him.
I purchased a Christmas pop up card template from Rob Addams (TM) and used the basic template to make this card.

The stamp of the little boy who is playing car games is from Lili of the Valley (TM), called "Computer Fun" which I coloured in using my Pro-markers (TM).

I used the Polka Doodles (TM) "Pretty Tuff" CD for the car paper where I cut out the cars and stuck them to the T.V and then also used it to die cut the "Archie is 9 today" sentiment.

The card goes in to an envelope and then when pulled out it POPS OPEN!

Archie loved the card, as did the rest of the family, a lot of fun was had by all!

Another new home card!

A friend I used to work with has recently moved back to the area, she is a great character and always up for a laugh, and so I thought this card from Joanna Sheen's (TM) new "House Mouse Project book 1 and CD" would work perfectly.

I used a die and my Grand Calibur (TM) to make the base shape of the card.
I then used the project book and the CD to make the card, adjusting the instructions to fit.

I punched some holes with a hole punch on the shoe design on the side and tied the lace (cross stitch thread!), which the project book suggests.

I finished off with a sentiment on the back of the card.

New Home

Yea...something different, this speaks for itself!

I know this does sound a BIT ODD, but John and I went to an auction last month and met a delightful family who bid and won a house near to ours, so I wanted to congratulate them and wish them well with their new house!

The person I totally have to thank for this card, once again, is my very talented friend "2 Magpies" aka Joyce, who produced this wonderful "New Home" cutting template which I used on my Silhouette Cameo (TM). Thank you so much once again Joyce, lovely work!

I used 12 X 12 papers that I have from a Brenda Pinnick (TM) signature series of papers.

I then simply added some gems for the smoke from the chimney, and "hey presto" a new home card completed!

...More Anniversary wishes!

Another Anniversary card, told you I had a few this month!

This card was made using a background from the Crafters Companion (TM) Cute Companions ~ Summer stories CD.
The stamps for the characters and the sentiments are from Dimension Forth (TM) called "The Wrinklies".

I coloured the sun bathing couple using my Pro Markers from Letraset (TM).

I used a punch to punch out a circle with a smaller circle inside and then weaved Creative Expressions (TM) red and white twine around to make a buoyancy ring.

I pute the sentiment on dark blue card and cut the ribbon effect both sides.

Anniversary wishes!

This is another Anniversary card as I have several to make this month!

I started by making a scalloped card using my Silhouette Cameo (TM) machine.
The background paper is from a Crafters Companion (TM) S.W.A.L.K CD.

The stamp is a Lili of the Valley (TM) stamp which I coloured using similar colours to the background paper so that it would blend in, using my Pro markers from Letraset (TM).

I added the sentiment with my Xyron (TM) design runner using the "Romance" card.

Finally I have some adhesive foiled ribbons which I embossed with a sizzix (TM) embossing folder and then added some Craftwork Cards (TM) card candy in white.

Happy Anniversary!

I have a couple of Anniversary cards to make for July and so I thought I would start with this one.

I have made this card using the STAMPS I WON from Anne and Lili of the Valley (TM)!
They are the magnificent "Posy Trio" and I am still excited that I won them, fancy, me winning eh!
You can get a set for yourself from http://www.liliofthevalley.co.uk/acatalog/Stamp_-_Posy_Trio.html
I used a DL card and added some background paper that I used from the Polka Doodles (TM) Pretty Sweet CD.

I embossed a card (which is difficult to see I know but it is there) and used my Spellbinder (TM) edgeability die to add the detail to the edges.

I punched scalloped circles using a punch from The Whitewash Coredinations (TM) paper and sanded it down to reveal the core raspberry colour.

I coloured the stamped images in with my Pro markers (TM) and added some Imagination Crafts (TM) Sparkle Medium to the flowers and the butterfly.

I added a sentiment stamp which I backed on to green background card.
Thank you for looking!

Happy Anniversary Dad & Mum!

This is a card for my Mum and Dad's Anniversary, I hope they like it!

I used a white card blank and covered it with a sheet of background taken from Kanban Seasons CD (TM) which is a really great cd.
I cut out the frame, the flowers and the leaves from adhesive backed gold foil paper using the Silhouette Cameo (TM) and a frame that I downloaded from www.birdscards.com which is a lovely web site.

The stamped image is from a Bazoo (TM) clear stamp pack and is stamped on to Neenah stamp card from Crafters Companion (TM).
I coloured the image using my good old faithful Letraset Pro Markers (TM) pens and added a deep green bow to go with the background.
